Mining operations at Horzum are carried out using semi-mechanized underground methods. The mine utilizes underground loaders, haulage trucks, rock breakers, drilling equipment, ventilation systems and safety monitoring units that meet modern mining standards.

Ore extraction follows a carefully planned sequence based on geological structures, ore body geometry and grade distribution. High-grade sections are mined with precision, while lower-grade areas are processed strategically to ensure maximum resource optimization.

Extracted ore is transported over a short distance — just 1 to 6 km from the mine to the main road network — which provides a major logistical advantage. From there, the ore is hauled to processing facilities for crushing, screening and enrichment before entering domestic or international markets.

Exploration, Resource Expansion and Geological Work

One of Horzum Mining’s core strengths is its comprehensive and methodical approach to exploration. A combination of geological, geochemical and geophysical techniques is used to develop and expand resource potential.

A total of six drilling rigs — including both surface and underground models — enable systematic drilling campaigns, generating thousands of meters of core and samples each year. These data help define new ore zones and refine existing reserves.

The exploration program includes satellite-based mineral mapping, drone-supported surface modelling, structural analysis, lithological studies and 3D geological modelling to create accurate and reliable reserve estimations.
